Census 2020: What's Next

Redistricting data from Census 2020 is available now (this is race data only). Here's an example in data.census.gov.

ALSO, the 2021 American Community Survey has been released as of 2022. More Information is HERE. 

==>Apportionment and Redistricting data from the 2020 Census have been available since 2021, but additional 2020 Census data products will come out this year.  The Demographic and Housing Characteristics (DHC) File will provide more detail of age, race, sex, Hispanic Origin, household and family type, occupancy, tenure, etc. in May 2023.  The DHC is similar to the Summary File 1 release of the 2010 Census.  In August 2023, the Detailed Demographic and Housing Characteristics (DDHC) File will provide data for detailed racial and ethnic groups and American Indian and Alaska Native tribes.

New Platform to Apply for Restricted-Use Data Access for Evidence-Building

The U.S. Census Bureau today announced the launch of a standard application process (SAP) developed by federal statistical agencies for applying for access to confidential microdata for research with an evidence-building purpose. Applicants can now apply for access on one consolidated portal at ResearchDataGov.org. Visitors to the portal can browse a catalog of protected data assets from federal statistical agencies and units and apply from the same website.
