There are a number of debates scheduled for North Carolina statewide elections this fall. Debates for council of state offices will take place in various locations throughout North Carolina on Tuesday evenings through October 8th.
These debates are sponsored by Spectrum News 1 and the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership. You can watch these debates on Spectrum News 1.
- Lieutenant Governor: Rachel Hunt (D) and Hal Weatherman (R) will debate at UNC Charlotte on September 17th.
- Superintendent of Public Instruction: Mo Green (D) and Michele Morrow (R) will debate at East Carolina University on September 24th.
- Labor Commissioner: Braxton Winston (D) and Luke Farley (R) will debate at the old Johnston County Courthouse in Smithfield on October 1st.
- Treasurer: Wesley Harris (D) and Brad Briner (R) will debate at Greensboro College on October 8th.
