The Local Documents collection in Atkins Library is located on the 3rd floor near the front of the building. Atkins Library has been a depository for the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County since 1984, and acquired many paper documents before concentrating on electronic.
The local documents can be found in the library catalog. They do not check out but must be used in the library.
Some local documents may be available in manuscript collections.
Some local documents from the time period 1944-1987 have been digitized as a part of an IMLS grant and are available at LivingCharlotte.uncc.edu. (Click on Publications.)
