LGBTQ+ Literature and Film

Welcome to the research guide for LGBTQ+ Literature and Film. This is a combined course guide for ENGL 4072-D04, WGST 4050-003, and WGST 5050-003. This guide contains selected resources and research tips that can help you with your course assignments.

Your research assignment asks you to explore an impactful text, author, or event taken from the LGBTQ Literary Chronology. 

According to your assignment guide, your presentation must "include a thorough explanation of the figure/author, text, or event and an analysis of the historical and political significance of the chosen topic. Simple informative summary will not receive a passing grade."

There are two different paths of research this assignment will require you to explore:

1. In-depth research on the figure/author, text, or event that you've chosen.
2. The historical and political context in which this figure/author, text, or event takes place and it's impact upon it.
