About the Event:
The UNC Charlotte Race and Social Equity Fall Forum is hosted in collaboration with the Atkins Library. The purpose of this forum is to address racial and social equity issues as it relates to being unhoused. Attendees will hear directly from an alum who experienced being houseless as a student, barriers faced and endured, and tentative solutions. A panel discussion will feature local leaders who will share innovative strategies to eliminate the number of people being unhoused. Ultimately, attendees will be equipped with information and knowledge about how to advocate and support this population.

The Race and Social Equity Academy (RASE) fosters the scholarship of practice and research focused on advancing racial and social parities within the community. Along with empirical scholarship, race dialogue will be supported through intellectual discourse, bringing together thought leaders in our community representing a variety of perspectives on race and social equity matters.
