What is EndNote Online?

EndNote Online is a web-based product which can be used to store references and use them in your work.

There are four 'versions':

  1. EndNote Basic - Freely available but with lower capacity and less features than other versions. No need for EndNote Desktop with this version.
  2. EndNote Online Classic licensed through Web of Science subscription - Users can register for an account while on campus to access platform. No need for EndNote Desktop with this path.
  3. EndNote Online Classic synchronized with EndNote Desktop - This version offers unlimited reference and storage capacity and the fullest functionality, including library sharing and collaboration. Must EndNote Desktop installed and your library synced.
  4. EndNote Web synchronized with EndNote 21 Desktop - This version is only available once you have synchronized your EndNote 21 library. It looks very similar to the Desktop version but does not include all the options available on EndNote Online Classic (e.g. sharing libraries).
