Media Literacy Matters Conference

Faculty Lightning Talks

We are currently accepting proposals for faculty lightning talks. Faculty interested in presenting a lightning talk on the work they are doing with media literacy in their classes and/or research can complete this form. Proposals will be accepted until 5:00pm on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Student Showcase

We are currently accepting proposals for the Student Showcase section of the conference, which will feature undergraduate and graduate student work related to media literacy. The Student Showcase will take place in person, and students can present individually or as a team. Proposals should be submitted in any of the following formats:

  • Poster presentation: Showcase a poster highlighting a project or class assignment that relates to media literacy. Posters should visually summarize your main ideas and key takeaways.
  • Video (3-5 minutes): Share a video or series of short videos you created for a project or class assignment that explores media literacy.
  • Lightning talk (5-7 minutes): Present an overview of work you have done or are currently doing for a project or class assignment that relates to media literacy. Present with or without slides.
  • Other: Media literacy projects in other formats.

This conference provides a great opportunity for students to add to their resumes/CVs and collaborate with faculty and students across the university.

Proposals may be submitted via the student submission form and will be accepted until 5:00pm on Friday, February 13, 2026. The primary contact for each proposal can expect to receive a decision by Friday, February 27.
