Peek, Charlie. "No More Shame. What is Gay Lib?" Carolina Journal 6, no. 4 (1970): 3. UA0014. The first of a series of articles written in the student paper, The Carolina Journal, which explained issues central to the growing Gay Liberation movement. The Gay Liberation is the predecessor to the LGBTQ Pride movement.
The Women's Lib wall was installed on campus in order to bring awareness to women's rights issues. During the 1970's, the student newspaper began publishing articles highlighting civil rights issues more regularly, including articles exploring issues of the Women's Liberation movement. Campus Pride is a national nonprofit organization for student leaders and campus groups working to create a safer college environment for LGBT students.
