Sermons on the Book of Job

The oldest book in the collection is the Sermones de patientia in Job et de poenitentia, which is a 1471 Latin edition of sermons on the Book of Job. 

The Koran: Selected Suras

Call Number: BP110 .J4 1958b

Printed in 1958, this is number 1297 of 1500 copies created. It was hand-illumentated and signed by the illustrator. 

Testamentum novum per Des. Erasmum Roterodamum novissime recognitum [etc.].

Call Number: BS1990 1550

A Latin translation of the New Testament by Desiderius Erasmus. Created in 1550, this copy also includes the note "Ex libris Thomae Wood" on its final page.

Revival in Our Time by Billy Graham

Call Number: BV3785.G69 A3 1950

Billy Graham was born in 1918 in Charlotte, North Carolina and was a prominent American evangelist preacher. Over the course of his life, Graham met with several American presidents and the Queen of England. 

This book by Graham was published in 1950.

Written by Andrew Tooke, The Pantheon: Representing the Fabulous Histories of the Heathen Gods, and the Most Illustrious Heroes of Antiquity, in a Short, Plain, and Familiar method, by Way of Dialogue, for the Use of Schools is the English translation of French writer François Antoine Pomey’s Pantheum mythicum. 

Created in 1793, this copy was once housed in the library of Waightstill Avery, the first attorney general of North Carolina, and contains his signature.
