An instruction session in Atkins Library is a great addition to your summer camp syllabus! Our librarians and our library spaces offer unique learning opportunities to all of your campers. In addition to our classrooms, we now have an entire suite of high tech spaces on the second floor of the library in which students can explore learning by creating, gaming, recording, and visualizing! Area 49 is designed to encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration, experimentation, and exploration. Encompassing the Technology Support Desk, Visualization Lab, EZ Video Studio, Gaming Lab, Multimedia Lab, Makerspace, and the Teaching and Technology Theater, Area 49 extends the classroom by providing tools and resources that enable students to engage in design thinking and cultivate lifelong learning skills.
Librarians are ready to incorporate picture books and read alouds, hands-on science experiments, making, and multi-media resources into their instruction to engage and delight your students. Please fill out this form to request a library session or to ask for more information.
