Diversity In Gaming

On April 9, 2021, UNC Charlotte hosted a panel of industry professional with experience in diversifying not only conversation around gaming, but games that are being developed. Our panel included:

• Latoya Peterson - CXO/Co-Founder of Glow Up Games
• Tara Mustapha - CEO and Founder of Code Coven (UK) and co-founder of Glow Up Games
• Kelli Dunlap, PsyD - Community Manager of Take This
• Mark Barlet - Founder of AbleGamers Charity
• Atia Newman - RIT Associate Professor, School of Film and Animation College of Art and Design
• Mark Reisch - RIT Associate Professor, School of Film and Animation College of Art and Design

Cozy Game Collection

Some people find gaming to be a positive self-care activity. The Cozy Game Collection contains games on a variety of platforms that are non-violent, involve cute characters doing activities such as farming, gathering, exploring, and interacting with other characters in nurturing and helpful ways. Visit Area 49 on the library's second floor to play and checkout games in the collection.
