About Dr. Huet:
Dr. Yvette Huet is a Professor of Kinesiology and the Director for the UNC Charlotte ADVANCE Faculty Affairs and Diversity Office. Dr. Huet earned her B.S. in Human Biology: Microbiology from the University of Kansas; her Ph.D. (with Honors) in physiology from the University of Kansas Medical Center; and served as a Postdoctoral Fellow with Monsanto Company in Missouri. Her honors include a National Science Foundation Minority Graduate Fellowship and a Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship for Minorities. She has served in many other leadership roles at UNC Charlotte, including as Coordinator of faculty development, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and Interim Chair, Kinesiology.
In 2014 and 2016, Dr. Huet served as the Keynote Speaker for the UNC Charlotte Latino Graduation Ceremony.
Dr. Huet grew up in Kansas. She loves reading and giant dogs.

About Roger Suclupe:
Roger F. Suclupe, MSW, LCSW, is a Clinical Assistant Professor and MSW Part Time Program Coordinator at UNC Charlotte’s School of Social Work. He earned his MSW from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and BA in Psychology from Appalachian State University. He is licensed in the state of North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been practicing in clinical settings for over 16 years. He also serves as the Co-Director of the CommUniversity and is a member of ARCHES (Academy for Research on Community Health, Engagement, and Services).
Roger is the Co-Director of The CommUniversity at UNC Charlotte which works to improve the health and wellbeing of Latinx immigrants and other vulnerable populations through service-learning and research. He also developed and taught an elective course, Social Work Practice with Latino Communities, which was a community and university collaborative learning experience for students with a community agency supporting Latino communities.
Roger is an avid soccer fan ("go Arsenal!"), coaches his children's soccer teams, loves the mountains and App State (his undergraduate school), and is a huge Duke Blue Devils fan, despite having attended UNC Chapel Hill for graduate school.
