Atkins Library's Special Collections & University Archives holds the papers of Alice Lindsay Tate (1916-1987), a philanthropist and financial supporter of many important scholarships and funds at UNC Charlotte. Alice provided funding for the establishment of the Judaica and Hebraica Library Fund to purchase materials related to Jewish Studies. She also helped set up an endowment fund to support the Isaac Swift Professorship in Judaic Studies, a position held within both the Departments of Religious Studies and Philosophy.
