Using ORCID Research Identifiers

A guide to understanding ORCID research identifiers and how to use them to create unified access to your research.

Register

Registering for an ORCID is easy and should take less than two minutes. The form will prompt you to provide your name, email address, and current employment to get started.

Once you have your profile, you can update your profile to include a biography and any additional names associated with you and your work.

Add works

There are a number of ways to add works to your profile. You can automatically populate your profile by adding works through their DOI or PubMed ID or through databases like CrossRef, DataCite, and Scopus.

If the work doesn’t have a DOI or other identifier, you can add it manually.
