Researching UNC Charlotte History

University History Online

There are many resources related to the history of UNC Charlotte that you can access online. Please keep in mind that only a small fraction of our materials have been digitized and we have only just begun collecting records that were created digitally.

  • Goldmine: Includes digitized content from the university archives and oral histories about the university. Highlights include all photos from the Charlotte College era, video yearbooks from 1989-1997, and commencement programs from 1950-2012
  • Archive-It Web Collections: This site is the access point for viewing archived versions of the University's website from 2015 until the present
  • Digital NC is the host for digitized yearbooks, course catalogs, and the student newspaper from 1947-1978.
  • Records that were created digitally (or, "born digital") are listed in the finding aids for our collections. To see these materials, you will need to request them via spec-coll@uncc.edu or from our reading room staff.
