Manuscript and Archival Collections

The Charlotte Gay and Lesbian Film Series was the first gay film series in North Carolina. Collection includes a Screening History, 1991-1996, and 5 programs.

The collection consists of a small assortment of papers (certificates of appreciation, and awards), and photographs concerning the broadcasting career of Charles Crutchfield, from 1968 to 1982.

"Discover Charlotte" consists of 16mm films about Charlotte history, cultural events, and prominent individuals.

Albums include material on the Jewish faith and culture, labor relations, political issues of the 1960s, and music. There are recordings from radio and television broadcasts which featured Golden or Carl Sandburg.

Material relating to this poet and native Charlottean and his appearance on "New Voices," a program on WUNC-FM radio about seven young North Carolina writers.

This collection contains the records of WBT radio, WBTV television, and the Jefferson-Pilot Communication Company of Charlotte, North Carolina from the 1920s to approximately the year 2009. There are also records from the Columbia Broadcasting System and a variety of syndicated television shows.

VHS tapes of television interviews with Mecklenburg County Commission chairpersons produced by Charlotte, NC, area public tv station, WTVI42 in the 1990s. The series of interviews aired titled, "Mr. and Madam Chairman." Interviews are accompanied by biographical material and a rough transcript.
