Register for this two-part, in-person event in Area 49’s Visualization Lab, Atkins Library, room 244.

  • Kickoff: October 16, 2-3pm
  • Game Showing & Judging: November 13, 2-4pm

Do you want to make a game for Area 49's brand new game cabinet? Join us for our Game Jam kickoff with Zach Pulliam, owner of Super Abari Game Bar and Ammar Ahmed, maker of Crab Volleyball, as they give participants the guidelines for how to create a game for the arcade cabinet. Your team’s game could be played on Area 49’s game cabinets housed in both Area 49’s Gaming Lab and in Super Abari!

Teams of 2-5 will have one month to complete their games using Godot Engine. If you don’t have a team yet or you’re not sure of your skills, not to worry! We’ll find the right team for you. All students may join regardless of skill level, major, or type of contribution, and great games need coders, storytellers, artists, and more!

For questions, contact atkinsarea49@charlotte.edu.

Please fill out the Registration Form and plan to attend both the Kickoff and the Judging/Showing. We'll see you there!
